April 2025: CAL graduate student Kesaan Kandasamy and CAL director Dr. Lixia Yang published a paper in Psychology & Neuroscience which you can find by clicking here. This study explores how older and younger adults process distracting information differently and how this may affect their performance on a goal-oriented task. The findings provide some support for age-related declines in distraction regulation but also suggest that older adults may use distracting information to bolster their proactive control strategies. These results shed light on our understanding of cognitive health with aging.
