Dr. Fiona Thomas, Principal Investigator of the ARCAI Lab, received two teaching awards! She was selected for the 2025 Faculty of Arts New Faculty Teaching Award at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) and the Canadian Psychological Association Teaching of Psychology Early Career Excellence in Teaching Award.

The awards recognize Dr. Thomas’s commitment to student-centered, equity-focused teaching across undergraduate and graduate psychology programs. The TMU Faculty Awards selection committee highlighted her innovative course development, meaningful integration of experiential learning, and leadership in advancing anti-racist and anti-oppressive pedagogies—particularly through courses such as Cross-Cultural Psychology (PSY 941) and Culturally-Informed Clinical Practice (PS8312).

Dr. Thomas extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Stephanie Cassin for the generous nomination, and to the students and colleagues whose thoughtful letters of support were integral to this recognition.
