Brandy completed the Psychological Science stream of our graduate program, receiving her PhD in October 2024. Brandy completed her BA in Psychology at the University of Waterloo and her MA at TMU. She is co-supervised by Behrang Keshavarz (Multisensory Integration in Virtual Environments Lab at the KITE Research Institute, University Health Network, Toronto) and Julia Spaniol. Brandy is interested in age differences in self-illusory motion, a phenomenon known as vection that plays an important role in the virtual-reality user experience. Brandy’s MA research examined the impact of visual, auditory, and haptic modalities on vection in younger and older adults. In her doctoral research, Brandy investigated individual differences and neural correlates of vection.
