Shanelle joined the lab in September 2013 as a fourth year undergraduate\u00a0thesis student. Since then, she has received her B.A. Honours degree in\u00a0Psychology. She is currently continuing her thesis on racial\/ethnic\u00a0differences in self-objectification and body-focused anxiety. In this\u00a0study, we explore the impact of media advertisements featuring a culturally\u00a0specific ideal (i.e., large or small buttocks) on young Black and White\u00a0women’s self-objectification and examine whether self-objectification\u00a0fosters negative body attitudes such as buttock size dissatisfaction.\u00a0Shanelle\u00a0is planning on pursing graduate studies in Clinical Psychology with\u00a0research interests in child psychopathology and self-image.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
