She was recently awarded an NSERC undergraduate student research award by the\u00a0Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada. Her thesis examined self-objectification (the habitual monitoring of one\u2019s physical appearance) and its application to skin bleaching in ethnically diverse women. Specifically, the research investigated whether skin tone surveillance predicts skin bleaching and whether endorsing beliefs that protect hierarchical social arrangements change these relations.
