Kaelan Ruddick

Kaelan (she/her) is an MA student in Psychological Science in the Media and Social
Development Lab at TMU, and is completing her MA practicum in the SPP Lab. She
received her BA (Hons.) in Psychology with a major in French and a minor in
International Politics from Mount Allison University in 2019.


Before pursuing graduate studies, Kaelan worked in the Office of Experiential Learning
and Career Development at Mount Allison University, primarily as the Career Services
Coordinator, then the Manager of Experiential Learning. During this time, she earned
Certified Career Development Practitioner (CCDP) status.


Kaelan’s practicum project will focus on a qualitative analysis of data relating to online sexualized violence in the videogame community. Her master’s thesis will examine whether people selectively expose themselves to information that aligns with their beliefs and attitudes when using large language models (like ChatGPT) to search for information.
