Alex Pachete is a PhD student in the SMART lab. He began his time with the lab in 2017 as a
volunteer research assistant and later as a Masters student in 2018. Alex received an honours
BA from York University in Psychology where his honours thesis examined the impact of music
listening on moral reasoning. His current research focuses on the biopsychosocial benefits of
group singing in older adults, particularly those with communication disorders. In his spare
time, Alex enjoys singing in choirs, teaching kickboxing, and cooking (and eating).
